Social Chairman update as we close out 2016

Hello Ladies,

This is the last Newsletter of 2016, I cannot believe how fast this year has passed.

It has been a very successful year for PIWC starting with our fantastic fundraising event A Mediterranean Night in January 2016 at The Plantation Club @ The Pavilions where we raised enough money to support 40 new scholarship students.

Our coffee mornings and monthly lunches were very well attended and we got quite a lot of new members during the year, which is great because this club has to grow and get new people and younger people on board.

There is also a weekly lunch group now, created by Suzie Kalb and Joan Watson and they are having lunches at small and typical local Thai restaurants in Phuket town and these lunches are getting more and more popular. Well-done Ladies!

The last event fort his year is our Christmas lunch on 15th December 2016 at The Holiday Inn in Patong. Registration starts at 11.30 am, followed by a sumptuous buffet. The price for members is 600 baht and for guest 750 baht. Reservations for this luncheon will still be accepted until the 13th December.

The PIWC Fundraising event called FIRE & ICE will be held at Firefly, the new club at The Pavilions on 21st January 2017. The price is 2,500 baht and includes a grand buffet and 1 beverage. Wines, beers, cocktails etc. Are available at very reasonable prices. We also have a DJ, raffle tickets, silent auction and our famous duck pond!

Tickets for the event are on sale now, please contact Carole:

raffles-ticket_jpgI am also very pleased to inform you that Emirates has given us for our fundraising event – 2 economy class tickets from Phuket or Bangkok to any destination in Europe served by Emirates. We have printed 200 special raffle tickets to win these 2 Emirates tickets. The price for 1 raffle ticket is 1,000 baht and we start the sales this week.

The winner will be drawn on stage during our FIRE & ICE event.

If you want to buy a ticket, please contact Carole: or Maggy:

I want to thank all those lovely Ladies who have been so active and worked so hard during 2016 to make it another very successful year for the PIWC.

I wish all our Members and their families Merry Christmas and a very Happy 2017!!
